Description: Western Electric mid-1900s WE 212 rotary dial telephone. This is a complete set up including the 43A phone handset mount, 155A subset baseboard mount, 634A subset, A43 phone wall mount, G2 handset and complete (4 part) finger wheel dial card holder. Tested and works. The phone rings when called, dials out on a plain old telephone service line and a conversation can take place - the transmitter and receiver elements work. Dial Specs: The #6A dial is dated 12-54 and works at 10.4 pulses per second with a 62/38 break make ratio (nominal specs: 8-11 PPS; 60 +/- 5 B/M ratio). The subset housing and handset mount are not damaged but the they do have have their fair share of normal use and wear related marks including worn and/or chipped off original paint, white paint drips, smears and specs and (see all images). The 60 inch long hard wired small diameter coiled handset cord shows long term usage and is a bit stiff. Overall, the phone handset mount and subset exteriors are in very good physical condition but cosmetically look as they did when removed from many years of service decades ago (see all images). The subset interior is clean and free from corrosion. The phone hook switch is clean and functional. The phone has a hard wired 6 foot long white modular line cord with a modular plug attached for use with a modular wall telephone jack. The 43A handset mount is connected to the subset with a 30 inch long 4 solid conductor telephone service wire (stiff being a solid conductor cord). A reproduction number card is included. The phone was gently cleaned and serviced during inspection and testing. New owner might want to replace the 3 existing, working cords with other cords of different lengths and types to meet their installation and use requirements. Note: The phone and dial have been tested as working on a plain old telephone system landline service (this phone was not tested on digital/VOIP services, many of which do not accept rotary pulse dialing - buyer is responsible for determining if this rotary pulse dial phone will work on their digital phone service). To make this phone work on most digital/VOIP phone lines, the buyer will have to purchase an analog to digital adapter (ADA). Without an adapter on a digital line, the phone will not be able to dial out but It will ring when called and can be answered to complete the conversation. Please view all images before bidding.
