Description: This is a copy of the Constitutional History of England, from the Accesion of Henry VII to the Death of George the II, by Henry Hallam. The three volume set is bound in its original contemporary calf binding with gilt borders on sides, spines gilt in compartments, red and green lettering pieces, and gilt edges. There is a crack at the top of the upper hinge of Vol. 1, but otherwise the set shows standard wear. The set has a bookplate for William Barwick Hodge, who may have been the President of the Institute of Actuaries at Cambridge University in the 1870s.
