Dip at the inside rim of the sugar bowl is not seen when top is in place and likely is an original design feature operating as a resting point for a sugar spoon as it is a smooth surface. A spoon sitting in the sugar bowl rested in this dip would allow the lid to sit more securely on top. Fun details in the pretty hand painted detail on creamer handle and the decorative top on the sugar bowl lid. Lovely condition clear colors. Very lightly used.
