C. hypogaea is a miniature and very distinct variety, short spines partially hiding the ribs, short needle like, nearly black, thickened rootstock going well down into the ground, with a long narrow neck. Flowers are yellow, campanulate and scented, around 1 1/4 inch in diameter, easy to flower. Originally from Chile, near Chanaral.Plant ships bare root. USA and her territories ONLY.
