C.R. Sigman Custom Handmade Drop Point Hunting Knife w/Sheath

Description: Offered for sale is a custom fixed-blade hunting knife, hand-made in Putnam, West Virginia USA by Corbet R. Sigman probably circa 1980s. Corbet Sigman was a knifemaker who began his knifemaking career in the 1970s. He made three grades of knives; collector grade, utility hunter and working hunter. Sigman was a Knifemaker's Guild member and actively made knives for approximately 30 years. He passed away in 2006. This knife features a hollow ground polished stainless steel drop point blade, full tapered tang construction, a nickel silver hilt, a single finger grip handle, a lanyard hole, and very nice wood handle scales. The handle scales are dovetailed into the hilt. The blade is 3-1/2" long and almost 3/16" thick at the hilt. Overall length is 8-1/4". The blade is tang stamped "C.R.Sigman" lengthwise down the blade. The blade appears to be 100% intact. The knife is in excellent condition overall, showing signs of occasional handling. The handle scales are in excellent condition, with no visible cracks or chips. The fit and finish is superb. The knife includes an aftermarket leather sheath. This knife is very well made, and will provide many years of service with proper care. Or, it would be right at home in a collection of custom knives.
