Description: Stunning Black and Orange plate featuring bold bright poppies made by Crown Ducal.Square scalloped rimmed plate. The outer surface of the bowl is decorated with large red / orange poppy blooms over a black ground that has a satin finish. The 1920s backstamp pictured places it firmly at the end of the Art Nouveau and the beginning of Art Deco periods and a little of both styles can be seen here. There are then odd spots where the black glaze has worn but only noticeable on close inspection . All are pictured . Otherwise in excellent condition . The plate measures approximately 21cm square 20247mvl
