Description: The item for sale is a CT13 1861 $100 CSA Certified by PMG as a GENUINE T13.Other than the obvious facts, what I have to say below is my opinion and I'm entitled to give it to Confederate currency collectors as it needs to be exposed.Always buy the note, not the holder! When purchasing a PMG certified Confederate note, the bottom line is YOU CAN'T TRUST in PMG's ability to correctly catalogue and label a Confederate note. I've seen dozens and dozens of mistakes as I have submitted many notes over the years to PMG for grading. I finally got so sick of all the mistakes that I told PMG the only way they'd be getting them back from me was to buy them on the open market.What made me decide to put this note on Ebay for all to see was seeing a CT36 sell on Hertiage (8/27/2024) in a genuine T36 PMG 64 holder. Heritage's cataloguers also missed that it was a counterfeit!PMG is excellent and accurate at grading Confederate notes for the most part...the best in the business in my opinion. However, until they take cataloguing and proper quality control of grading Confederate notes more seriously, these egregious errors of certifying counterfeits as genuine will continue.Maybe I'm in the minority in my opinion and it's no big deal to most collectors as mistakes happen. I think it is UNACCEPTABLE for any certified collectibles company to certify an item as genuine when it is a counterfeit. Collectors like you and me pay companies like PMG because they are supposed to have experts on staff. It sure does seem to me that PMG has no Confederate currency experts on staff, else these types of mistakes would never get out the door.The ultimate irony about this particular CT13 up for sale in this auction is I SUBMITTED IT AS A CT13! PMG STILL CERTIFIED IT AS GENUINE!Message me if you'd like to see additional examples of PMG certifying Confederate counterfeits as GENUINE.
