Neither did I 😒. Now is your chance to get a faithful replica of the guitar that defined Gilmour's tone from 1971-1984.Built by E11even Guitars using new genuine Fender parts. Adorned with an accurate replica Black Cat decal and loaded with the correct pickups, hardware and a 50s spec neck as found on the current configuration of the "Black Cat Strat". The decal can be easily removed if you prefer the classic Black Strat look.The body is a new Classic 60s Stratocaster made of Alder with classic Black gloss poly finish and chrome hardware. The tremolo is a new genuine Fender big block vintage style with the wider vintage string spacing and a short 4.25" bar like Dave's to be held by your pinky.The pickguard assembly is all new components and consists of a thick one ply black acrylic pickguard with hand polished edge to stay true to a proper Black Strat. The pickup covers, knobs and tips are Parchment. It is loaded with the same pickups found in the Custom Shop edition; Seymour Duncan SSL-5 in the bridge position, Fender Custom Shop 69 in the middle and Fender Custom Shop Fat 50s in the neck. The electronics consist of CTS 250K volume and tone pots with a .047uf Orange Drop tone capacitor and a CTS no load blender pot in the bottom tone position, a CRL 5 way switch and a Switchcraft jack all wired with Gavitt vintage push back wire. We replaced the bottom tone pot with a blender pot in place of the mini-toggle for adding the neck pickup to switch positions 1&2, as it provides more tone options and is easier to use than the mini-toggle option. This allows you to blend in the bridge pickup to positions 4&5 in addition to blending neck pickup to positions 1&2. And you can add as much as you want as opposed to the all or nothing of a mini-toggle. When this pot is turned up to 10, it is true bypass and your 5-way switch functions as normal. The middle tone knob gives tone control for all 3 pickups. This is a much more useful configuration in our opinion. The rear tremolo cover is vintage spec 1 ply black.The neck is a new genuine Fender Classic 50s with a vintage tint gloss nitro finish. It features 21 vintage frets, 7.25" fretboard radius, Fender synthetic bone nut, Soft V profile and is loaded with a new set of genuine Gotoh SD91 vintage tuners and a Kluson string tree. The frets have been leveled, crowned and polished and the nut shaped and cut to the proper depth.The guitar is strung with David Gilmour signature GHS Boomers 10-48 gauge strings with the tremolo setup traditional floating (as it should be 😊 ). It weighs 7.8 lbs and includes the new Tweed hardshell case shown.
