Description: Darlot Opticien Paris 11 1/4" (about 285mm) f/3.6 vintage brass barrel wet plate lens. Made in France. Serial #28.393. Circa 1866. Non-coated glass. This lens will cover up to 8x10, but for sure will cover 6 1/2 x 8 1/2". Three(3) waterhouse stops included. Built-in Focusing Rail. Front lens diameter is about 75mm. Rear filter diameter is about 85mm. Lens is 150mm or approx. 6" long. Weight is little over 2lb. Included retaining ring is 5" diameter. Lens is in Ex or 8 of 10 cosmetic condition. No dents or dings. Some patina and aging of the original brass finish. Clean front element and rear lens elements. A few very small fine cleaning marks on the rear that will have no affect on your photos. NO SEPARATION. Lens optically is in very good condition for it's age. Original brass retaining ring and short brass lens hood. Quite interesting example of early brass camera lens with good coverage. Sells with NO RESERVE at a price of $995.
