This piece was made by Darrell Adams, the grandson of WJ Gordy. After graduating from the University of Georgia, he went to work with his grandfather for 1.5 years before setting up his own studio in 1986. He continued to study with his gradfather until Gordy's passing in 1993. For over 25 years Darrell has been exploring variations of glaze formulas used by Gordy and D.X., as well as using their works as inspiration for a foundation to build on. Darrell's pieces are made on his grandfather's 1935 treadle wheel & his great grandfather's (WTB Gordy) 1907 treadle wheel. He also uses his great uncle's (D.X. Gordy) electric wheel, ball mill, and most of Darrell's glazes use the rocks and minerals D.X. introduced to him. We ship pottery often - read our reviews.
