The naming of marbles serves a few purposes for classification, but I prefer to think of the names as a fun way of remembering my youngster years when I was playing marbles in the dirt on the playground during recess time. Some of the names for marbles in this Equinox run include the following: Desert Turquoise, Buttermilk, West Virginian, Oxblood Babe, Superman, Autumn Skies, Citrus Splash, Slimers, Minty Pinks, Christmas Tree, Halloween, Emerald Monarch, Pretty In Pink, Bloody Grinch, Splendor and the famous Peacock. This marble is definitely from the Splendor family with its characteristic colors of orange, tangerine and lime. The green aventurine gives a nice bit of pizzazz to the marble. The nice collectable characteristic of this marble is the heavy gold lutz chunks and the colorful confetti glass making this yet another lutz guinea for the Equinox run. This Splendor has a very strong personality with the bright colors and sparkling bits. I try my best to take high resolution pictures with flash to show exactly what you are getting. I try to rotate the marble to give multiple views. This marble was manufactured using the 3/4" machine and the size of this particular marble is a huge 0.747" in diameter measured with electronic calipers. Note: the downgrade from mint is due to a crease that can be seen in the last picture.
