Description: Decca Professional Tonearm, made in the UK by Decca. Comes with the Decca armrest and connecting cable (with new RCA connectors). The arm is well-used and has many scratches and dings, but functionally it is in perfect woking condition. I have set it up on a Thorens TD-124 for a brief listening test (see the last photo). It worked flawlessly and sounded great. Compared to the original Decca FFSS tonearm, the Professional Tonearm is more "user-friendly": Its "coarse balance weight" and the rotatable "fine balance weight" offer the user accurate adjustment of the tracking force. (See Photo 9 for a close-up picture of the black "coarse balance weight" and the silver rotatable "fine balance weight".) In addition, its arm tube is marked with graduated lines (what Decca called "grooves") and features a movable sliding weight -- this makes switching among different Decca FFSS cartridges (MK I, MK II, MK III and MK IV) quick and easy, as the user can simply move the "sliding weight" to the right groove to get the correct tracking force. (See Photo 10 for a close-up picture of the movable "sliding weight" on the arm tube with grooves.) Please study the 16 photos to get a good idea of the condition of the tonearm. What you are buying are what you see in Photo 1, namely the Decca Professional Tonearm, its base (with mounting screws, washers and nuts), armrest and connecting cable only. The Thorens TD-124 turntable, the mounting arm board, the Ortofon hi-jack, the FFSS MK I cartridge, and the Tom Paxton record you see in Photo 16 (the last photo) are NOT part of the sale -- they are for demonstration only. To keep shipping and handling cost reasonable, the arm will be sent from Hong Kong by Registered Airmail Packet which provides what the Hong Kong Post Office calls "Partial Tracking". This means that the delivery progress cannot be checked online during transit. However, when the item is delivered, the Hong Kong Post Office website will show that it's delivered.
