Sing While I'm Walkin' ꟷꟷꟷꟷꟷꟷꟷꟷꟷꟷꟷꟷ “ Florida-born guitar ace Dickey Betts has led a chequered career this past forty years or so; having made his name as one half of the innovative twin-pronged lead guitar assault in the Allman Brothers Band, and, on Duane Allman's untimely death, assuming the mantle of sole lead guitar player with the legendary combo, and via numerous splits and reformations, culminating in his final departure in 2001 from the band in the ongoing rock and roll Southern drama that is the Allman's history, he has always been an individual for whom a love of music has been his saving grace. Betts brought a whole raft of musical influences to the band; Duane may have had the stinging slide guitar lines, the Blues- soaked fret board fireworks filtered through such influences as Albert and BB King, and, due in his early death, a justified legendary status. Such was the nature of his talents, he all but stole the show with his contributions to Eric Clapton’s Derek & The Dominoes project. But Dickey Betts was the guy who penned the likes of Ramblin Man and Jessica, and proved that the Allmans undoubtedly had a future despite the grievous losses of Duane Allman and Berry Oakley. Alongside Gregg Allman, he pushed the band on, a gritty Southern determination to show that the Allmans were strong enough to cope with the Duane / Berry tragedies. Betts Brought to the lore his deep knowledge and love for Western Swing and straight ahead country as well as his acknowledged terrific feel for the Blues and R&B, as well as a more outré taste for Jazz. In the likes of Ramblin' Man. He showed that he could also pen an incisive, heartfelt lyric.” (excerpt from the liner notes by Alan Robinson) SHIPPING TO USA ONLY Buyer Pays Shipping $3.99 1st CD $3.99... each additional $1.50 CDs will only be combined with other CDs or DVDs To qualify for the combined discount, all items must be purchased together, paid for with 1 payment, and shipped all together in 1 shipment.
