Description: Diplomat De Luxe HT-6082 AM Radio 1963 Serviced Works Excellent Vintage VTG Radiomuseum.org says that this radio was made in 1963. By the components install and the civil defense markings on its dial, I believe that to be correct. It came to me badly squealing and unable to tune a channel. That’s a classic indicator of a shorted capacitor in the AFC circuit. I replaced all four capacitors with Nichicon Gold audio capacitors. The radio works like new. I’ve never heard of the brand Diplomat, but I recognized the circuit board. Made in Japan by Star Lite, it was sold under several brand names such as: Star Lite, Hi-Fi Sonata, Encore, Hilton, Life Tone, and likely others. It’s clean, glossy, and shows very little signs of use. The cabinet is reflective. Nothing missing. Nothing broken. No chips. No cracks. No Scratches. The metal front and its painted scrip is perfect. Nice radio. I usually service the vintage radios I sell on eBay. Serviced = I clean the volume control, check the radio’s alignment, and check its current draw. It’s loud. Volume control goes smoothly from totally silent to blazing overload loud. It produces a clean and clear sound. It’s sensitive. I was able to easily zoom straight to the local weak stations in my area I use to confirm a radio is working correctly. It is. It looks good. Collector quality. I ship USPS Flat Rate. A tracking number will be provided the following business day after purchase. I will combine shipping when applicable, so please see my other cool old radios for sale. -karl : )_
