Description: Drake TR-7 HF Transceiver Equipment Line-Up(Complete Amateur Radio Station Configuration)Previously owned Drake TR-7 HF Transceiver, with Drake PS-7 power supply and related DrakeTR-7 equipment line-up, MFJ CW Keyer/Reader with keyboard, MFJ Iambic Paddle, and MFJ Headphone accessories, are being sold as a complete station configuration. In total, there are ten (10) specific items making up this amateur radio station offer. This offer is for all the items listed and will not be broken up for sale individually. The Drake TR-7 is an all-solid-state, broadband, HF transceiver, capable of operating SSB/CW/AM/RTTY modes. It is offered here in a complete amateur radio station configuration, as listed below. All items are in near-mint condition. There are no dents, scratches, panel paint finish rub-outs, missing/faded panel lettering, broken switches/controls, or any missing knobs, feet, or retaining screws. All equipment is fully functional, works well, and meets the manufacturer’s design and operating parameters. This equipment is in excellent condition. It has been housed in a “non-smoking” environment and has been very well maintained, physically and electronically. This station configuration has been in regular use, “on the air”, and only recently taken out of service to sell.The driving reason for this sale is that we are in the process of selling our home with the intent of downsizing. I have multiple radio station operating positions in my existing “radio shack” which I must consolidate. There will be no room for all my equipment at the new location.The listed equipment will come with related interconnecting cables with connectors for this equipment configuration. All items will come with their associated operating manuals or pertinent equipment documentation, as noted below. It can be placed on the operating desk, but it has sufficient interconnecting cable length to be relocated remotely from the transceiver. This power supply has excellent voltage regulation and can deliver up to 25 amps of continuous current. It has adjustable primary voltage settings, over-voltage, and over-current protection. Powering the unit “off-on” automatically reset a triggered fault. Fusing is also provided for “fail-safe” operation. There are interconnecting provisions for an RF linear amplifier requiring ALC and VOX connections on the power supply rear panel, which functions with the Drake TR-7 transceiver. The optional FA-7, Model 1529 Cooling Fan is also installed, which Drake states is required for very prolonged current load levels above the normal rated 25 amps continuous level. Again, this would be only likely with sustained RTTY / SSTV modes of operation. (PS-7 Operation Manual is included.) It will handle up to 250 watts of transmitter OUTPUT RF power – (i.e. approximately 500 watts of transmitter INPUT power).(MN-7 Operation Manual is included.) The RV-7 can be used for transmit, receive, or transceiver frequency control. TheTR-7 RIT (Receiver Incremental Tuning) control setting is applied to the RV-7 when in use. There is also a “SPOT” switch on the RV-7 to allow frequency “ZERO BEAT” between the RV-7 and the TR-7 PTOs when in “SPLIT” mode operation. The RV-7 cable connects to the rear of the TR-7 for easy installation.The RV-7 internal PTO unit is identical to the TR-7 PTO, as such it has the same frequency range and stability specifications as the TR-7. When plugged in the MS-7will automatically disable the internal TR-7 speaker. Specifications are similar to the Drake 7077,but this mic tends to be less sensitive being that it is a mobile hand mic, mostoften used in higher ambient noise environments.(No documentation available) Basic specification:Type: Dynamic, High ImpedanceOutput: (Not known)Frequency Response: 300 – 4500 HzConnector: 4-pin, compatible withTR-7 transceiver - ITEM – 8– MFJ-464 CW Keyer/Reader, SN: N/A – the MFJ-464 Keyer/Reader is a full-featured keyer combining dual microprocessors and a non-volatile EEPROM chip for a full-featured design. It uses an LCD display to set keyer functions and show the sending message. The MFJ-464 keys CW from a paddle, a keyboard, and a serial computer interface. All code parameters are changed with an easy-to-use menu interface shown on the LCD. The MFJ-464 has four message memories of over 220 characters each which can be loaded by paddle, keyboard, or from a computer with a terminal program. The unit can repeat messages continuously, insert timed pauses within messages, insert an auto-incrementing serial number, have messages call other messages, or insert embedded commands into a message. Commands can be sent to the keyer in Morse code using your paddle, keyboard, terminal program on your computer, or push-button switches on the front panel.The MFJ-464 has controls for volume and speed on the front of the unit. The paddle jack connects to any iambic or single lever (dual contact) key paddle. The keyboard port allows a keyboard – (a keyboard is included with this unit) – for keyboard keying operation. The serial interface allows the connection of most RS-232-compatible computers.There are too many features to outline them all here. The Operations Manual, included with the unit, is very detailed and gives a description of all the features and options available. I will outline just a few features here. - Adjustable code speed from 5 to 99 WPM- Adjustable weight on code elements from 25% to 75%- Iambic keyer with dot and dash memories, automatic, semi-automatic, or hand-key mode- Adjustable side tone frequency from 300 to 1000 Hz- Compensation for transmitter character shortening up to 25 ms; Keying delay up to 20 ms,; PPT hangover time up to 10 seconds, and other individual characteristic adjustments are possible.- Reader decodes Morse code up to 90 WPM with automatic speed tracking- 190 character type a-head keyboard buffer with buffer-full warning - ITEM 9 – MFJ-564 – Iambic Paddle w/Chrome Base, SN: N/A – This Iambic CW paddle key has a heavy chrome polished metal base to stay positioned while sending code. There are individual contact distance and tension adjustments for both dot and dash-sending functions to personalize the “feel” of the paddle. The paddle comes with a 3 ft. cable having a ¼ inch, stereo phone plug installed to plug into the key jack of the MFJ-464 keyer/reader, listed above. There is no documentation for this paddle. The mechanical adjustment points are self-evident and intuitive in their use. - ITEM 10 – MFJ-392B – Stereo Headphones – the head phones are head-size adjustable at each ear position. There are individual slide volume controls to adjust the volume for each ear. (This is a nice feature for those who suffer hearing loss to increase or decrease individual volume to strike a comfortable overall volume level between both ears for more comfortable listening.) There are cushions on each ear speaker for comfort. A small “Stereo to Mono” connector box is also provided to use these headphones with the Drake TR-7 transceiver since the radio has a mono audio output.(No documentation available for this item.)
