Description: Amazing example of elements in 1870s pattern glass, this table piece reflects Victorian dining culture (holding spoons in a bowl). With stippling creating the frosted look of pattern definition, artwork hinting at the popularity of Japanese motifs in American Aesthetics, and all with the expected quality of Pittsburgh glass, it's an all around conversation starter. This footed spoon holder stands just over 5" in height and has a top diameter of 3 5/8". There are no chips or cracks. There is no purpling. There is a top inner rim area of rubbing from spoon handles, and the base of the inner cup area shows rubbing from spoons. Overall, this one is a terrific piece to add to a "Rustic" or McKee collection, makes a thoughtful gift to the collector of antique tableware, and would be treasured by anyone who appreciates Victoriana in decor. As with EAPG, Depression era, and other vintage glass, there may be slight 'character' marks, shear marks, bubbles, ripples and mold marks on bottoms or sides from the original mold and/or production process.
