EAPG Richards & Hartley Pride aka Leaf and Dart Covered Salt and 4 Wines c. 1870

Description: A table piece pattern that crossed the time period from "flint" glass to soda lime glass, Pride aka Leaf and Dart includes elements of earlier Lacy patterns, and more "modern" Victorian features. The base to the covered salt is flint-y with a bit of lead and blue-ish tint. The cover and wine stems are not, and show the pale green of manganese under UV light. The wine stems are similar to today's cordial and hold about 2 oz - a serving of wine in the Victorian era. These were produced by Richards & Hartley Glass Co. of the Pittsburgh area in the 1870s, and the pattern was based on the earlier pattern "Loop and Dart" made by Portland Glass Co. (ME). Unique about the wines is the fact that two are of the flower band variety, and two are missing the flower band or the alternative bead band. The circles above the cup stippling are also missing the stippling inside of the circles, but the rest of the pressing looks clear. The wines are 4" in height, with a top diameter of 1 7/8". The covered salt is 3 7/8" with lid. Top diameter of the salt is 2 1/2". There are no flaws in the wines or the salt base; the salt lid has a few issues as shown in the final image around the edge of the cover. As with EAPG, Depression era, and other vintage glass, there may be slight 'character' marks, shear marks, bubbles, ripples and mold marks on bottoms or sides from the original mold and/or production process.
