Elegant Original 19th Century 100% Silk Pale Gold Mantle/Cape Ruffled Layers

Description: Offering a lovely, lightweight, pale gold Victorian silk mantle or cape. it is unlined, and has three tiers of self ruffles with pinked edges. The same ruffles go around the neckline and all the way down the front to the hem. This mid-Victorian style has a longer front and shorter hem length in back to accommodate the large crinoline hoop skirts of the time. The back has a slight V shape. The narrow piping is very finely sewn and the silk fabric shimmers. This mantle/cape is in excellent condition with no damage or repair. The silk is strong and pliant with no weakness. The inside of the cape is unlined and there are some very tiny, faint scattered age dots but they are so insignificant that they could not be photographed.
