Pelikan 1979 Pellicano P451 Rare Pink L Nib Cartridge type fountain pen Nib: [size L] Steel Country of Manufacture: Germany (West Germany at the time of manufacture) Size: Length with cap 13.1cm / approx. 14g Condition: Brand new, unused (deadstock item) Included: Special box, ink (6 short, 1 long) Color: Special color dark pink This is a fountain pen from the old German Pelikan Pellicano P451 series, which has not yet been released in Japan and is extremely hard to find. This is the version produced in Europe in 1979, in the same line as the P450 but in a special color. Although I wrote pink, it looks more like a dark pink with a purplish tint, or reddish purple. It has a lovely German color scheme and is extremely rare, so I think it is almost impossible to find even in Germany. The nib is black steel, a rare "L" nib. It is especially recommended for those looking for an L nib, and seems to be popular because it is easier to draw with and produces neater drawings than thinner nibs. The cap is also made of steel and has a rare, high-quality feel. The black cap clip has become worn over time, but it has the PELIKANO engraving and the Pelican mark, which is an intricate design that is hard to imagine in this day and age. The body of the pen features a long, thin window through which the ink inside can be seen, and is engraved with the letter "L." The tip of the grip end is engraved with GERMANY, and the nib also has the Pelikan mark. The design is slim and simple, making it chic and cool. The original case is included as is (it has some tears and signs of aging). It is rare to find an unused item with all of its packaging still intact. This is dead stock from a long-established stationery store that has been in business for over 100 years, but because it is an antique, there is some cloudiness and very slight scratches on the steel parts and the main body.
