Look for a white sticker on the inside of your original remote. A sticker with the same info will also be on the inside/outside of the actual RKE system in your vehicle if you do not have a remote to reference. The reason you are looking for this white sticker is that there is a code on it you need for programming. An example of this code would be something like 322431A or 322431. Once you have found your programming code, you can determine the correct traces to be cut on your replacement remote. 1. Take the purchased remote apart with a Phillips head screwdriver and separate the remote casing carefully (it can be damaged if it is taken apart roughly). 2. Remove the battery and gently pull outwards on the circuit board to extract it from the casing. 3. Flip the circuit board over to reveal the trace numbers with either a group of five sets of numbers ranging from 1, 2, 5, 6 or 2 rows of numbers ranging from 1 through 12. 4. Determine the correct traces to be cut on your purchased remote circuit board. Looking at your original remote’s trace cuts is the easiest way to do this. It can also be done by using the programming code on the white sticker described above. 5. After determining the trace cuts that need made, grab either a small, sharp flathead jeweler’s screwdriver or a Dremel tool with a small cutter bit and carefully notch out each number trace. 6. Once done, double check your circuit board traces by comparing it to your original remote (if possible). 7. It is now safe to reassemble the purchased remote. 8. Test it to see if it operates your alarm, remote starter or keyless entry system (depending on what features your RKE system offers). 9. If unsuccessful, take the remote apart again and recheck all the traces to ensure that each cut has been completely interrupted. We ensure proper working condition of all previously used or new remotes through a serious of tests performed with the Santronics Testing device. Each button is tested for functionality prior to shipment and then logged. Please Note: Each remote and circuit board is UV id’d prior to shipment – All returns receive a UV ID inspection to verify originality of remote sent prior to refund or replacement.
