Description: I am proud to present you this fabulous box by the exceptional artist Eduard Makarov. Eduard is one of the leading artists of Fedoskino and his works are renowned worldwide. Eduard has traveled France, Spain, Greece and the US. Hundreds of his works belong to private collectors and galleries in Russia and abroad. Eduard is inspired by many sources, such as Orthodox art and Christian mysticism, but his recent works most often show the magic of pictorial language of Russian culture. His art is a world of innovative and lyrical quality that incorporates the array of fantasy and life. Eduard Makarov is largely involved in the world of art – he is the member of the Union of Russian Artist, he has worked in the Moscow Orthodox Church workshop (painting icons, eggs, enamel jewelry and other art) and in 1995 he became a teacher at Fedoskino School of Art. Eduard has worked with a wide variety of media, such as wooden matryoshka dolls, crockery and other objects. The materials used for this and other Eduard’s boxes are papier-mâché, oil paints, lacquer, mother of pearl inlays, pearls, colored metal powder, colored gold leaf and silver leaf, skan’ – metal ornaments, enamel “guilloche” (inner bottom of the lid), gold acrylic paint (spray), the metal nail and the feet of the box (“furniture”).” This particular box is sold but artist can recreate it upon request. Time to completion is about one month. Eduard can make box of any shape with any theme/idea. So if you have an idea in mind Eduard will be able to make a box for you.
