A rare print. This Carte d’Adresse was used by F. Nys, who was Rops's printer at times; it suggests that Nys was a teacher of printmaking as well as a printer. Etching with surface tone. Printed on brown laid paper, trimmed to narrow margins. Ink notes on front. Pencil notations on back state that this is between states 3 and 4 of 7. Plate: height 86 mm × width 117 mm
