German bronze sculpture, c. 1890. The sculpture is made of solid bronze, with a bright gold dore finish. The piece rests on a beautiful marble base. The piece is partially incised on the underside "DRES" for Dresden, along with some production numbers. It is otherwise unsigned. The piece is 11.75" tall, 5" wide, and 5" deep. It weighs about 8 lbs. The sculpture is about 8" tall x 5" wide The figure is in excellent condition free from dents, dings, or restorations. The gilt (dore) patina shows wear, commensurate with age and use. The marble base is original, and free of chips.
