Description: Ford Schrader caps. This is a set of five new original style Schrader bright nickle plated brass tire valve stem caps. They were used on all Ford vehicles through 1959 (except 1957 Thunderbirds that had a one-year-only valve stem with no cap). Starting in 1960 Ford switched to Dill brand black plastic valve stem caps. These caps are stamped with "Schrader" on the bottem of the skirt. These Schrader caps are OEM (original equipment manufacturer). To the best of my knowledge they are 100% correct for AACA (Antique Auto Club of America) and CTCI (Classic Thunderbird Club International) National judging. They are made by the Schrader company in the USA. Inside the top of the cap is a rubber seal that keeps air in your tire if the valve stem core leaks. The point on the top of the cap can be used for releasing air from your tire if necessary. The caps are knurled for a good grip. Most people today have never even seen these high quality tire valve stem caps. In "the day" everybody and their brother used this cap.....even Schwinn bicycles.
