Description: This nice quality fossil shark’s tooth measures 2.2 inches (55.88 mm) in length from the top of the root to the tip of the crown. The serrations are visible, yet slightly worn; the well-preserved enamel is dark bluish grey in color. The preserved root is partially capped with a custom shark’s mouth design of pure 925 Sterling Silver. An excellent fossil pendant overall.. The teeth of the giant ancient shark, Megalodon, are among the most prized specimens for the prehistoric fossil collector. They are similar to those of today's Great White, but considerably larger. They were the largest carnivorous fish ever to have swum the oceans of our planet reaching lengths of up to 70 feet. They lived 1.5 to 28 million years ago.
