Description: Maker: This set of 4 antique porcelain cups and saucers has no maker's mark. It is almost certainly English and is believed to date to the early 1800s. Many companies of that era produced exquisite fine porcelain for England's elites, much of it unmarked. Competitors' patterns and shapes were often copied, making definitive identification difficult. Similar shapes and patterns as pieces in this set have been attributed to New Hall, Spode and Coalport. But the maker of this set remains unidentified. Design: The beautiful black and white toile type design featuring a stately manor reflects the tastes of the early 19th century. Size: The saucers are 5 3/8 inches wide and 1 1/8 inches tall. The cups are 3 1/4 inches wide and 2 1/4 inches tall. The set weighs 1 pound 9 ounces. Condition: All 8 pieces are in overall excellent condition for their age and fragile material with no nicks, chips, cracks, stains, discoloration or repairs. There is light wear to the design and edges, and many small embedded spots that were created in the manufacturing process and are common in English porcelain of this age. Other pieces in this pattern are being sold separately. Please check all the photos very carefully – they are an important part of the description.
