Description: Quality porcelain vase at its Japanese best! This is an outstanding Fukagawa vase with precise even cobalt blue glaze: I dont know how they get it so even and not show paint mark! The large, oversized peony is beautifully painted in soft cobalt tones. Bear in mind this is painted in shades of blue on the white vase before the rest of the glaze. Again, there are no brush strokes: it just appears in soft tones and magically comes into focus. Its really spectacular. Additionally it is embellished with gold gilding which adds depth and sparkle. The backside of the vase has a small fly or petal. This is another lovely quality piece by the very well-known and respected Japanese manufacturer of Fukagawa. 10" tall. No damage. No scratches. A beautiful form and exquisite decoration on very fine porcelain as is typical of Fukagawa.
