G174845 Welch 8890 Direct Torr G Rotary Vane Vacuum Pump

Description: This Welch 8890 Direct Torr G Rotary Vane Vacuum Pump appears to be in fair cosmetic condition, although there are a few small dings, scratches, & signs of previous use. Please look at the photos. This pump is missing the plastic Oil Fill Cap and it is not included. The Vacuum Pump powers-up, although after just a brief period it shuts off. Possibly a motor thermal safety switch. After a few seconds you can manually turn it on again, just to have it shut down a few seconds later. The motor sounds like it is laboring when running. It appears to draw good vacuum while it is operating. I do not have the equipment or training to formally repair & test this item therefore no further testing has been performed, so it is being sold as is.
