Description: Garfield The Cat Bookends Vintage Enesco GREAT Condition RARE E5913 This offer is for a rare and hard to find set of 2 Garfield the Cat bookends. While there are other Garfield (and Odie!) bookends made by Enesco, this version is the rarest. These would be perfect for the ultimate Garfield or cat lover. One bookend features our favorite orange tabby pushing with his back to hold up the books. Title of book is “Garfield at Large”. (Which was the name of his first book.) The sticker on the back names this piece “Immovable Object.” The other bookend has Garfield using his paws and body to hold the books up. Book is titled the same. The sticker on the back of this piece names it “Irresistible Force.” Bookends each measure approximately 6” x 4” x 3.5”. There is black foam on the bottom of each to make them non-skid. Also from age, this appears to be a bit dry. They are made of either ceramic or porcelain. (They are breakable, so not for children) Garfield is drawn by the cartoonist Jim Davis.Label on bookends copyright 1978, 1981 United Feature Syndicate, Inc.Licensee Enesco. Part number E5913 I am the original owner and they are in excellent condition. The only chips I can find are extremely small on the edge of the books on both pieces. This appears to be from age as opposed to actual damage. (Only way I found them was by rubbing my finger over the books). Non-skid foam on bottom of each bookend is a bit dry from age.
