Gibson GA-5 5-Watt Tube Electric Guitar Combo Amplifier

Description: I've owned this amp for 60 years and have never used it much. At this point, it's time to get it into the hands of someone who will use and appreciate it. Note, this is not the re-issue model from the 2000's. This amp is elegant in its simplicity and has a warm sweet sound.I've owned this amplifier since about 1972. While I can't vouch for every component, here's what I know is NOT original - I've put arrows in one of the uploaded chassis photos so you can see these items: Power cord & plug1/4" headphone jack (works - speaker turned off when stereo headphones plugged in - sound is, of course, mono)Power capacitors (3) - when I powered it up recently, I got a puff of smoke - I replaced the 3 power capacitors and it's working fine. I kept the old caps, in case you want to source more vintage-looking replacements for a true restoration.Per the photos, here are the cosmetic blemishes:Bottom part of the "G" in Gibson on front of amp is missing Some rust & pitting on the control panelSome of the cabinet covering needs to be re-glued, but nothing major - didn't want to mess with the patinaCould use a good cleaning - didn't want to mess with the patinaNo top cross-piece on back - just the bottom oneFrom what I've been able to research, the GA-5 model that was produced between 1956 and 1961 - serial # is 15164, but you'll need to dig in to determine the production year. Tube lineup is one 12AX7, one 6V6 and one 5Y3. Note that the logo on this amp is on the case above the grill cloth.
