Description: Our daughter was born in September of 2002, and her grandmother was determined to buy her a collectible doll to match the quality and cultural impact of GUI oe for boys. It had to be Barbie, she ezplained that Barbie was very girs’fantasy Hal glow. Up yo bre a living. Teaching. BArb,nie, yo sir khetrselgf ad glorious, as rasmataz and glammed up asap you wondered/ Special Ediition Holiday Celebration Barbie holiday glamour and the perfect addition to your cherished Barbie collection. You see, I wanted a Barbie for my daughter that would show her how beauty and joy really can be made up of plastic and cardboard. The 2002 Holiday Special Celebration Doll was everything I thought little girls wanted to apire to be. What I didn’t count on. Was that my daughter was the point guard for the bball team, not the cheerleader. She was the art students whose idea of makeup was whatever she couldnt’ get to peel off after art class. She’d laugh and call it a’natural. So this Barbie became a shinning beacon of opposites - truly things my daughter was not. But she did not hate the Barbie for her lace and velvet, nor did she as to destroy her Grecian looks. She seemed to kinda like having an “Annti-me” on the shelf to continue to inspire her to keep looking for her own unique identity. My daughter is smart, beautiful, and can cut up a rug in a pair of army boots like you aint never seen. Polar opposites can sometimes be best friends, as long as they celebrate each other and respect who their friend is, as much as they are not. My daughter is leaving for her dream job in NYC and she needed the money to fund her trip. So we’re selling the entire collection and every penny goes to her moving aand living experiences. She wants to be an art restoration expert…of course she does. That’s my girl!! HER Story: My parents decided when I was born that they'd gift me a Holiday Barbie every year. For over twenty years, I held onto this barbie and the nine other barbies I received. Now as I'm preparing for grad school, I decided it was time to give these dolls a new home. All my barbies are up for auction, so please check them out if you're interested in the barbies of 2000-2009 (I've included a group picture of my collection).ember of 2000.
