Great Joy 1.8x T2.9 Amber Anamorphic Lens Set: 50mm (EF) + 35mm+85mm (EF/PL)

Description: Selling my Great Joy 1.8x Amber Anamorphic kit. I am the original owner of all (3) lenses. Each were bought as part of the original crowdfunding campaigns. The 50mm is the oldest, and I purchased it before they later offered EF/PL swappable mounts, so the 50mm is Canon EF only. The 35mm and 85mm include PL mounts, though I have never personally used them myself. Selling at a competitive price compared to what B&H is selling these new for, and my set has been very minimally used. If you are in the NYC area, I offer local pickup in Brooklyn. Includes: 35mm, 50mm, 85mm, (3) Front Caps, (3) Rear Caps, (2) lens support threads, (2) lens pouches, remaining shims that came with 35mm and 85mm (my 50mm never came with any), warranty cards, 3-lens shipping case All the glass is in great shape, besides some very minor dust inside, there are no scratches/haze/fungus. I am including the shims I got, although due to my 35mm needing heavy adjustment I have quite a few of them installed in that lens, so you will notice only 2 out of the 3 shim sizes are included. You will very likely need to shim these for best performance with your own camera/adapter, I used the lenses across multiple EF adapters/camera systems, and the shimming had to be adjusted. Right now they were shimmed to work with my Blackmagic Cinema Camera 6K with Sigma MC-21 adapter, and that is how I will leave them for shipping. If you need additional shims, Blazar's support team will be able to help you out (Great Joy rebranded as Blazar). VERY IMPORTANT NOTE: The 85mm will NOT work with all Canon EF adapters (I used a cheaper EF to L mount adapter recently, as it doesn't work with the Sigma MC-21). The 50mm works with most adapters fine in my experience, I haven't had any issues with the 35mm, but the 85mm has the widest rear glass size, so it can have issues with EF adapters that have a rectangular flange inside the adapter. The 50mm has a variable squeeze factor, when focused to infinity it is a true 1.8x stretch, but when you focus closer, it becomes more like a 1.6x stretch. This must be adjusted in post and makes the lens challenging to use for focus pulls (though many older high end anamorphic lenses have a similar design and people have worked around these limitations for decades). In my opinion, despite the variable stretch, this lens has the best mix of performance and character in the set. The 35mm and 85mm have a constant 1.8x squeeze factor at all distances. All lenses take 82mm threaded filters. NONE of these lenses will work with speedboosters. Do NOT buy these to use with a Speedbooster. Flare color on the 50/85mm lenses is Amber, the 35mm was only made in a more neutral flare and it flares the least in the set (almost none, to be honest). The 35mm will cover full frame cropped to 2.35:1, whereas the 50mm and 85mm will cover full frame Open Gate on cameras like the Panasonic S5IIX or Blackmagic Cinema Camera 6K. In my experience these lenses are sharp wide open at T2.9 (provided you have them shim properly for your camera/adapter combo).
