Description: This is a DIY book I made using diagrams hand drawn with pen and ink based on 43 years of teaching, performing, writing and recording. I included some self-depreciating photos just to keep it friendly, but inside it's all business starting with what I call "Chord Yoga". Chord Yoga is my term for moving slowly from one simple chord to another similar shape then back. I recommend doing this slowly and thoughtfully, listening to each string and concentrating on getting a beautiful sound out of each note. It's a daily warm-up that helps train our ears to to discern if our guitar is well-tuned or not and if we are producing clear, pleasing sounds. There are plenty of beginning through intermediate chords, blues progressions, strumming patterns, and patterns of notes. You will also find some challenging shapes and more complex chord progressions. It is not an exhaustive encyclopedia of all chords, but it's a great start. These are the chords I have used playing in bands since the mid-70's. Good for rock, blues, jazz, country, pop, classical, psychedelic, metal, punk rock, rockabilly and surf music. A little history: I was accepted to play in the jazz band in high school but did not possess the needed information, so this book aims to correct this short-coming for those wishing to succeed where I failed!
