Description: HARRIS CAST IRON HORSE DRAWN DELIVERY CART / FARM WAGON w/ CARMEL HORSERare and original, ca1890's Cast Iron Horse Drawn Delivery Cart / Farm Wagon manufactured by the Wilkins Toy Company of Keene, New Hampshire. The Toy offered here is an early version of the Wilkins wagon with cast iron undercarriage and wheels, a curved, stake bed dray type body with cast iron stake sides, bed and front panel. The Wagon is pulled by a carmel horse, trotting and retains its original, separately cast, standing driver. This early, Cast Iron, Horse Drawn cart measures 11" long overall by 4 3/4" tall (to the top of the driver's hat) by 3 1/2" wide (across the rear wheels). The bed of the stake body wagon is curved backwards as is typical of a farm wagon but also typical of Cart Wagons of the late 19th century. This rare and quite attractive, Delivery Cart / Farm Wagon is in very good condition. There are no crack, breaks, chips, repairs or physical damage of any kind to the Toy. It retains its original, separately cast, standing driver. Overall, the Wagon and Horse retain approx. 65% of their original surface paint while the driver retains remnants of his original silver paint. The surface paint is 100% original, and the toy has never been restored, repainted, touched up or altered in any way.
