This Amp was originally built by a Scientist at the Lawrence Livermore labs along with the matching Heathkit Tube tuner. Both units were used very little, then put in storage for 55 years. Both were completely refurbished 6/24 by Avatar Engineering, using the finest components in the world! Included in the rebuild are: All new power supply, utilizing higher capacity, higher voltage and higher heat range audio grade electrolytic capacitors. All new NOS tubes, all mylar tubular caps were replaced with both polystyrene and polypropylene film and foil units. Key resistors were replaced with Vishay foil ($$$$) .1%, Takman, Tantalum, and RPR .1% non inductive wirewound ultra quiet precision resistors. All ceramic small capacitors were upgraded to Silver mica and polypropylene film caps. Before the rebuild the amp sounded great, afterwards the sound is amazing! Rivaling $7,000 + amps.
