Description: Helen Fleming Stone (1927-2007) Pottery Vessel. Blue Wash Glaze over Red Clay. Speckled. Georgia, USA. 2000. Size: Approximately 4.5 inches tall. Condition: Very Good condition with flea bite chips on upper rim (see last photo) and possibly on raised texture. One or two small white blemishes which appears under the glaze (see photo). Areas of inconsistent finish (some glossy areas see photos). Other blemishes inherent to this type of pottery. Light crazing in some areas. Artist Dr. Helen Fleming Stone was a well-known potter in the state of Georgia USA. More about artist: "The Dr. Helen Fleming Stone Scholarship is the highest honor and largest scholarship bestowed on a National Art Honor Society student by the Georgia Art Education Association. Dr. Stone established and built the scholarship through diligent hard work and tireless effort. As an artist she was a gifted sculptor and potter, so she sold her work to fund the scholarship."
