This all according to relevant historical facts! With our accessories you build the best model Product details:Material: Sailcloth, cloth – Batiste – 100% cotton, grammage is 125 g/m2. Cloth was prewashed to prevent cloth shrinking Description of sails: I offer beautiful sails sewed on CNC sewing machine. Sails set is complete, without studding sails. The sails are sewn as determined for a France sail ships of 17. century according to excellent book by J. Boudriot - LeTrois-Ponts du chavalier de Tourville 1680. You can see also attached picture from this book. Details that are used on offered sewed sails: - Upper bend sails is in a standard way larger than the side and bottom. Exceptions are fore course, main course and topsails where in the lateral reinforcing strips tapering towards the top. - "Buntline cloths" are sewed from the lower edge of the sail, from places where the sail ropes were fastened - Buntline. Which was used to furling the sails. - There is strengthening at the site of reef ropes fastening so called "Reef band". Number of reef strips depends on the number of reefs on sail. - Topgallantsails, spritsails course and topsails and other smaller sails are strengthened. - There are only linings from the back side of topsails (so called “Mast cloths“). These linings prevent wear and tear during chafing sails and Mast Top. - Staysails and Gibb sails are reinforced at the corners always from the right side when looking at the ship from stern as determined by regulations.
