Description: Welcome to Antiques & Moore! This listing is for a beautiful Herend Hungary porcelain lidded tureen in the MARKET GARDEN pattern introduced in the 1850's. This gorgeous tureen is hand decorated with colorful fruit and flowers on a white porcelain ground with green twig handles on the base and lid with a pink rose on one end and a yellow rose on the other. This design is from a multi-motif pattern with 30 motifs that are painted in a combination of motifs chosen at the selection of the artist so almost every piece is a one-of-a-kind. Currently a 5-piece place setting in this pattern is available from Herend, however, any other piece is custom made to order making additional pieces hard-to-find. The fruit and flowers on this tureen are painted in vivid colors and have been combined in a stunning design. Marked with Herend Hungary trademark stamp with the form number and pattern code "1145/BFRN". Measures 4 1/4" high (base only), 7 3/4" high (including top handle), 9" in diameter (not including handles) and 11 1/4" wide (including handles). Weighs 4.11 pounds. This gorgeous tureen is in very good to excellent Estate condition with the only noted issues being a tiny flake off the back of a petal on the pink rose and two very tiny chips on the petals of the yellow rose. Each of these flaws are hardly noticed except upon very close inspection. The colors are crisp and there are no scratches.
