There wasn't much left intact. Years of storage, neglect and moving around had resulted in damaged, broken cars, missing pieces, and dirty locomotives with questionable functionality. Over the course of the next few weeks, I sifted through the cars, saving what I could. One locomotive in particular, a Virginia & Truckee Genoa 4-4-0, showed signs of running, so I worked to restore it and eventually it ran again, pieces cleaned and replaced. It was through this effort I learned of my own interest in model railroads, particularly in the old steam locomotives of the pre-1900's. Since then, I search for damaged, dirty locomotives of the 2-4-0 and 4-4-0 configurations to repair and provide for interested model railroad enthusiasts. Recently, I acquired several locomotives including a Central Pacific Railroad (CPRR) Jupiter 4-4-0 with four freight cars and matching caboose. All of these cars come in their original Bachmann boxes and are in great condition BUT with some issues... Guarantee: Many times, these locomotives and cars are offered with the statement that they are untested, leaving it up to the buyer to determine whether they want to risk paying for something that may or may not run when they receive them. Central Pacific Railroad (CPRR) Jupiter 4-4-0 Steam Locomotive & Tender:This locomotive was received in good condition, but required some cleaning and repairs to restore it.Original box / cradle & Bachmann instructions / diagram - Front plastic of box split and has been taped to secure it.Pilot, lantern & smoke stack are all intact. These pieces tend to be the most likely to break or be missing.Bell - The bell behind the smoke stack was missing, so I acquired a brass replica from Precision Scale Company.The brass stanchions on either side of the boiler, railings and flag pegs have all been buffed to restore their original shine.All axles (except the one with the rubber traction tire) have been buffed to remove any accumulated corrosion to better allow for excellent contact with the tracks.Original drive shaft intact and presentWiring between the locomotive and tender is solid and intact.Tender is in excellent condition. One step on the right side is missing.Hook and horn coupler present in the rear of the tender.Locomotive / Tender have been tested and respond in forward and reverse without hesitation (see video)Freight Cars & Caboose:A total of (5) cars, each one in their original Bachmann boxes with cradles to hold them in place.U.P.R.R.
