Description: Title: HO Scale Fleischmann 854077 Steam Locomotive 780-5 Engine T-18 #8916 Essen Runs Details: Comes with train, original box, and paperwork. Bench tested on 10/24/24. Front and rear headlights are working. This is a beautiful 4-6-4 steam locomotive. We believe it is hardly used and in great looking shape. No broken pieces, no cracks, very minor cosmetic imperfections due to age and handling. It does have the original plastic molded protector for the train. The couplers are removed to prevent damage. The box has a partial tear on the plastic window edge on top. Some dings imperfections on box as well. When we initially tested the train, it had a loud screeching for about 5-10 seconds, and then it went away. We stopped and put a couple drops of light oil on the gears and ran it again in fwd and it stopped making noise. Once the squeaking stopped, it ran smooth and strong. When put in rear drive, the squeaking would happen briefly but intermittently (you can kind of hear it in the video) We do not know the cause. We assume it will need full servicing and proper lubrication and hopefully that would solve this. Otherwise, this is a great train and ready to go! DC only. No smoke, no operating sound.
