Description: PRODUCT: New (+2" TALL) Crystal Clear Slipstreamer® REPLACEMENT WINDSHIELD. It is designed to directly replace the stock shield found on the genuine Honda brand fairing. It is 2 inches taller than the stock OEM shield. FITS: 1981-1982 Honda GL500 Silver Wing Interstate 1983 Honda GL650 Silver Wing Interstate ALL GL 650 and 500 Interstate and Standard Silverwing models equipped with the genuine Hondaline fairing. (Some GL650 and GL500 motorcycles had optional "wind wings" on the sides of the shield. If your's had windwings, you can re-use them on this shield if you would like, but you'll have to drill holes in this shield in order to mount them on it.) (Will NOT fit Vetter, Pacifico, Bates, Aurthur Fulmer, Cutter nor any other aftermarket fairing.) The additional height provides you with a little more wind and debris protection than the stock size windshield. This shield directly replaces the shield on the genuine Honda brand (Hondaline™) fairing of the early '80s. It is made of Lucite® which is a very nice windshield material. It is one of the most rigid motorcycle windshield materials on the market. It is one of the most optically clear materials available. Lucite is more optically clear than hardcoated Lexan® windshields are. Lucite resists yellowing more than most other windshield materials. Another nice advantage of Lucite is that it does not have to be coated with any hardcoating. Hardcoated shields deteriorate rather quickly, making this Lucite shield a wise long term investment.
