Description: Presented today is this great Hopi Kachina doll, depicting Masau'u, the Death Kachina. Before humankind climbed through the Sipapu, to emerge into the Fourth World, Masau'u was the soul being who lived there. He made a gift of the world to the people, as well as the gift of fire. Masau'u is the only Kachina who can appear on the mesas at any time of the year. Sometimes, he carries a small club or antler, which can kill with a mere touch. Standing 9 inches tall, this very nice example is the work of Earl Arthur, a respected carver of great talent. Earl's work has always been reverent and understated, never glitzy or gimmicky, and his honesty and fidelity to detail is never compromised. The colors are rich, but subdued and never garish. Earl carves for mainstream collectors, and carves at a size which makes his beautiful Kachina dolls within reach of everyone. Buy with complete confidence, for as you all know, if the buyer is unsatisfied for ANY reason, I will immediately return the full purchase price, including return shipping. Earl is the carver for all collectors; wouldn’t this doll look great in YOUR collection? Many Thanks for your kind consideration, and as always, Best Regards, Rich
