Description: Inventory #13-GLN Beautiful antique 19th Century engraving depicts a natural history animal scene titled: " ON VIEW " by HARRISON WEIR. Engraving comes from a very rare antiquarian natural history book printed in 1880. There is printing on the reverse side but this does not show through to the front and would be covered when framing. The engraving is in very good condition and would look beautiful framed. There is some light smudging on the outer border which can be covered when framing if desired. There are a few faint spots of foxing on the image but these are really light and would be hard to see when framed. The engraving measures 10 1/4" x 13 3/4". This was too large for my scanner so the scanned image does not show outer margins but I have included a photo which does. The actual engraving is much sharper than this scan and photo depict.
