Description: Deciding there must be a story in historic fifth issue of the Incredible Hulk, the famous issue where the printer’s colorist accidentally colored the big guy gray instead of green, Peter David, knee-deep in his record-setting run on the Incredible Hulk title, decided to add the abomination in a four part murder mystery story line titled countdown.Walt Simonson was tapped to provide the covers for the four issues series as well as this promotional poster released in 1989 to draw attention to the special issues and the grey Hulk residing within. The poster is one of those rare occurrences when Marvel decided to draw attention to a special story run and Walt’s design featuring all four covers floating amid a hourglass background does an excellent job of informing readers of the incredible murder mystery contained in the storyline. The poster was never offered for sale and only available to the stores that existed in the later half of the 1980s. It was only available one per store for promotional purposes… This example is in excellent shape for its age... almost 40 years ago. It is printed in strong blacks and vibrant greens with Simonson‘s trademark detail and dynamics in evidence throughout. This is a rare vintage example of Marvel comics at it’s famous best and the poster would look great on any library, gaming or comic collecting room wall, a true piece of Marvel comics history. We include free promotional posters, comics, buttons, pins and trading cards with every order as a thank you to our fellow collectors. Our posters are now shipped In double tubes, heavy reinforcement to avoid damage by the post office.
