I am fairly new to crypto mining, For the past couple of year's I have been watching my nephew messing with these things. They were intriguing to me as I have have an electronics and design engineering background. As his equipment started to age and failures started to arise he started to call upon me for repairs. It didn't take long before my long time passion of race cars or anything I could put a wrench on took hold, I took a liking to the mechanical side and that is were we are today. Back to why I dove into this project. Most basic electronic devices are good for 10+ years no problem. Read the antminer website and they claim these machines will run for 100,000hr. (11.4yr), These things seem to be much more prone to failure than that. My nephew had a dozen of these things at the time and as early as the first year, some of the hash boards started having issues and by year 2-3 half of his machines had one issue or another. My education enables me, if I don't know the answer to something I know how to study it and find the answer. I found several thing that lead me to the premature failure of these units. The big one is vibration and the other one people talk about is heat. In my professional opinion the thermal expansion and contraction is actually quite negligible since most of these units are constantly running, with a microprocessor controlling the chip temperature that control's the fans accordingly. I plotted and recorded the temperature change over several days and noted they deviate very little if any. You turn your microwave oven or car stereo on multiple times every day or other electronic devices and they last decades I cannot conclude this is a problem. This is what points to vibration as the culprit. As I looked into the cause, I ran into topics related to propwash in aviation and large ships. This gave me a trove of information to study. More than one thing is going on here with these fans. Each fan blade produces an individual pressure wave in front of the blade followed by a vacuum or drop in pressure, 4 fans 20 blades 3-6 thousand RPM, you can see were I am going with that. Then you have torsional vibration caused by the (north south north south) switching action of the electric motor, and then you have the acoustic vibration from all of the noise that is created, these machines are noisy and loud, Just imagine being inside that aluminum tube with your hash boards for the next several years.. And don't forget about the wind noise, stick your head out of the window of you car at a 150mph. So if you look at your machine and even put you hand on the fan and think O that isn't so bad you are greatly mistaken. lookup ultra sonic cleaning on the web, it will amaze you what can be done with a vibration you cant hear or feel, there are warnings not to leave circuit boards in an ultrasonic cleaner to long because of erosion that takes place, It has taken a month to design this and together with the help of a friend at a local injection molding company that invested in the high cost of the pattern making and molds we pulled it together. these were not cheep to design and I don't know about you but I don't have the money to start fixing these things after only the first couple of years, these are expensive and I don't want to have to start paying someone to repair them just as I am getting them paid off. My initial testing was outstanding, the machines showed that 80-90% of the vibration that used to absorbed by the hash boards was gone. I will be adding some videos to this listing next week. I have purchased a digital stethoscope that I can plug into a computer and give a good visual representation of the performance gained by installing a vibration absorbing damper. Do some testing yourself if you have the ability to gets your hands on an engine scope or just a good old-fashioned stethoscope. It will actually tickle your ear drums and sounds like a freight train going down the tracks, imagine being inside that aluminum tube with the hash boards for the next few years in that type atmosphere, its clearly obvious this is a major design flaw or just not looked at in an effort to produce these as fast as the industry is moving. I will be producing these for other machines such as the whatsminer and other configuration soon, I am leaving hardware up to the customer as there are a million different ways guys will be configuring these.. please ask if you have any request or questions.. thanks Jason!! p.s. a little mention on the diffuser screen. it serves several purposes. one is it acts as a muffler/silencer and the other is to block the pressure waves produced by the fan blades, if you think about it they look like ripples in a pond or think of an air compressor without a tank, you would feel an air pulse every time the compressor piston comes up, but with the air tank all you feel coming out of the hose is a constant pressure. same thing happens hear, a slight back pressure before the hash board and all you get is a constant smooth air flow. they aren't as restrictive as one would think the plate is bigger in diameter than your fan blade and your fan has a big hub in the center that does not flow any air anyway. this cancels out any restriction you might think you would have. they can be removed if you want to try both ways, but they do produce a noticeable benefit and I would use them my rpm's only changed by a couple hundred..
