Description: Imperial German, WW1, Extremely Rare, Minty Naval Land Pilots Badge, made byHugo Schaper. The Naval Land Airplanes mostly operated from Marine Jastas in Flanders with the rest operating from Seaplane Squadrons on the Coast. This was not a large part of Kaiserliche Marine’s Avaition contribution to the Great War. The German Navy had it’s own Pilot’s Badges for Sea and Land Aircraft. I currently have an engraved Sea Pilot’s Badge in the Jeweler’s case listed separately as well as a Jeweler’s Cased Land Pilot’s Badge with two sets of medals listed separately. , the Naval Officer’s Visor Cap is NOT INCLUDED. Hugo Schaper was a Berlin Jeweler who specialized in making Pilot Badges and other awards during the Great War through WW2. I have since found 3 Mint Naval Sea Plane Badges, not engraved listed separately. Pilot badges for the Kaiserliche Marine are considerably rarer than Imperial Army Pilot Badges. There were only 2 Jastas in Marine Feldgruppe Flandern making Naval Land Pilot’s Badges exceedingly rare. Check out my other listings for military items mostly from 1837-1919.
