Description: LOWENBRAU IMPORTED LIONS BREW DRINKING LION MASCOT draft beer tap handle. Munich, Germany. Origins date back to the founding being as early as 1383. It was first mentioned in Munich tax records in 1746. It was not Incorporated until 1872 which at that time it was the largest brewery in Munich. It was exported to Miller in 1974 and became Americanized the following year. Imported Lowenbrau Lager. 4.9%ABV. A delicate balance of malt and hops brewed following the centuries old German Bavarian beer purity laws dating back to 1516. Lowenbrau means "Lions Brew" in German. Tap looks like new. Excellent condition. Only a tiny paint blister on the stein as seen. No other issues. Looks spectacular. Like a circus performance the King of the Jungle has taken up residence sitting up on a wooden keg balancing on a concrete pillar that sits at the front gates of the brewery. He is licking his lips and enjoying a cold Lowenbrau. As long as his beer stays full I think everyone is safe. One of my favorites. Must be over 20 years old. Finely sculpted piece with a big brass ferrule. Very collectible and not often seen looking this nice. Stands 12 inches tall. Tap handle has been turned and rotated so all sides are pictured.
