Description: 5/4/0/1 *Out of Production! First ever overmold discs made by Innova! 2013 First Run Proto Star! The Atlas is an overmold Mid-Range with a small amount of high speed turn and very little fade. The Atlas is an overmold that combines a firm, low-profile flight plate with a grippy rim. This Mid-Range flies straight with minimal fade, combining accuracy and control with an ergonomic grip. The Atlas performs well for both backhand and forehand throwers forgiving small throwing errors better than any other Mid-Range. The Atlas features four 'compass points' located on the underside of the disc. These ports are where the rim is injected over the flight plate. The Atlas is the first disc manufactured by Innova that combines two different plastics in the same disc. This method of utilizing a rim piece that is composed of a different plastic from the flight plate is called an ‘overmold’ and has been very successful for MVP. The rim of the Atlas is composed of a gummy composite which provides unparallelled grip, durability, and consistency in flight. On the underside of the rim there are four ‘compass’ points (hence the Atlas name). These points help secure the outer rim with the inner flight plate. Brand new, the Atlas is a nice, straight-flying mid range disc. I am working it into my bag to compliment a selection of Rocs. - Hannah Leatherman XT Plastic XT is a tough plastic blend that was originally developed for the Nova and Atlas. It worked so well, it spread to other models. Grip is off the charts and durability is almost as good as our premium plastics. XT is firmer than R-Pro, and less firm than KC Pro with a unique grip that feels great in the hand, and inspires confidence when throwing.
