These ferrules keep all the wire strands gathered and protected together within a copper conductor. A cleaner connection As a bonus, these ferrules also feature ultra-thin sides, so you can load the bare wire into the ferrule, install the ferrule in the wire terminal, then tighten the set screw to crimp the ferrule tightly to the wire and secure the connection to your amp. This also prevents any splaying and bending of the wire strands that may break in the wire terminal. Ferrules are also useful when hooking up fuse holders and distribution blocks.
