Description: This fine 19th century iron Tsuba is made in the Mokko shape with four elegant lobes. It depicts a gnarled plum tree stump with new branches and blossoms growing out of it. The blossoms are inlaid with gold and silver and their colors form a nice contrast to the dark patina of iron metal. The back of the Tsuba shows one solitary branch with silver inlays. The piece is in good condition with wear commensurate with age and use.
